The power star of Kannada cinema is super star of South India in real terms. Power star Puneeth Rajakumar has beaten in penetration and earnings in small screen when compared to his counterparts in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. In South Kannada is the best with 81 percent plus, counterparts have not fared so well.

The viewership, popularity and commercials for Puneeth Rajakumar ‘Kannada Kotyadhipathi’ is highest compared to other southern languages of KBC season one claimed Anoop Chandrasekhar is no doubt a new crown for power star Puneeth Rajakumar.

We had a cool and admiration filled chat after the formal address of season 2 of ‘KK’ at Hotel lalith Ashok on Monday evening with the power star of Kannada cinema Puneeth Rajakumar.

Here are the excerpts:

·         I have slimmed down lost a few kilograms. But my big brother Shivanna looks very fit. Both are trained under one trainer.

·         I do eat what I want. I take good sleep and my happiness I am not forgoing.

·         I hate wearing suits. The one I wore today is mine. I removed after the event. I was with 86 suit for season one and similar numbers for season 2.

·         Three hours one episode will be over. Before going on my chair I take 45 minutes for the preparation.

·         I would incorporate the issue of ‘Nethra Daana Maha Daana’ for this season. This is a good suggestion.

·         I don’t care if over exposure in small screen happens. I am not missing out on films. There will be no danger to my big screen career.

·         In the first season I do agree I have helped some people out of my way. I don’t want to disclose the money I have lent as good gesture.

·         Wait till March 6 – there will be one announcement. I have spoken to Samuthirakani of ‘Yaare Koogadali’ director. He is getting ready a script. I love to work with Gautham Menon. That is a long pending one.

·         My wife and children don’t see my films. My wife Ashwini has liked a few of my films like Akaash, Arasu and Prithvi after marriage.

·         My mother Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar watched the first season of KK and given good opinion.

·         Surely the season 2 is a learning experience. I have become a good listener.

·         The book on my father – Kannada and English copies are sold out. Over 2000 plus of each language have been sold. It is going for reprint.

·         From the book we have earned for Trust of my father around Rs.32 lakhs. We are using it for various social works in a systematic way.

·         The new house is coming to an end. I would invite you all. It is at the polishing stage. It is not a special house. Due respect for our father is given at this house.
